We had such a fantastic time touring with Ronny and Jose. From the very beginning we were given outstanding service far far beyond our expectations. I honestly just created a TripAdvisor account just so I could share how great these guys were to us and make sure their efforts are recognized. 5 stars. Thank you Cozumel Buggy. We hope to use your services again!
The buggies were colorful and safe. The tour guides Hernan, Jose, and Omar were friendly, professional, and made the tour so much more fun. Our group of 6 cousins didn’t want to drive, so Hernan drove 3 of us and Jose drove the other 3. We learned so much about the island by doing this. They helped us in and out of the buggy and explained thoroughly what would be happening. We booked this separately from the cruise – we taxied to the hotel where they met us – everything was smooth and easy. Made it back to the ship in plenty of time. Would definitely recommend this!
I want to personally THANK.. Hernan and Jose for a fantastic tour, they were very knowledgeable and professional. They even went to the great lengths of having a cupcake for my birthday.
At the end of our tour my Girlfriend, left her wallet with her IDs and credit cards in the Vehicle we were using, and it was promptly returned by their staff without hesitation… I highly recommend their services.
Thanks again for making my Birthday a memorable experience.
Fun tour! Our tour guides were Clemente and Omar. Customer service at it’s finest. Fun was the agenda and we accomplished our goals.
We saw the island and stopped for a little swimming. Stopped to learn a little more about the Mayan heritage and tour a tequila factory. Tasted the difference in aged and fresh tequila.
Clemente listened to the desires of all our group and my 11 year old especially. It was a moment to remember.
Snorkeling was fun but part of our group cut out to do a little shopping. We needed more than 6 hours on the island but didn’t want to miss our boat!
I highly recommend the tour. The buggies were unique and we got lots of attention.
This provided a great mixture of getting out and viewing sights of the island, getting a bit of culture and then going out and having a cooling snorkel/swim. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and ensured i had what i wanted. To top it all off after all the activities was the lunch included in the price! Good value and well worth the money…….Thanks Guys.
This was such a fun excursion, my husband claims it is the best one he has ever been on. The tour guides were very helpful and made the trip fun. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. A great way to get a taste of Cozumel and explore the beautiful scenery and learn about Mexico. We did not realize that we were going to get a history tour on Mexico and we found that to be very interesting and informative. This is definitely a tour you get your money’s worth, you won’t be disappointed.
The tour guides were very knowledgeable and so helpful. The ride in the dune buggys was fun and the stop at the beach was so relaxing and very beautiful. The history part of the tour was interesting and not boring at all like some other tours I’ve been on. The snorkeling was terrific. Lots of exotic fish and sea urchins. The time at each stop was perfect and of course the food was delicious. I’d recommend this tour to anyone looking to do a lot of different things in one day.
My wife and I are in our mid fifties and this was our first snorkel experience. The tour guides couldn’t have been more helpful and considerate to help us get acclimated to the gear and the water. The buggy tour was a blast and we saw some beautiful beaches and surf. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
We had the best time on this tour. Our guides, Clemente and Hernan were friendly, knowledgeable and hilarious! We toured Cozumel in one of a kind buggies, stopped off at a beautiful beach, and then went on to see an old Mayan home and learn about the history of the village. Afterwards, we went to see how tequila is made and got to sample several ages and flavors. We then left there and had fun snorkeling back where our trip started. We LOVED this tour and HIGHLY recommend it!
Best excursion ever…there was only me and my sister that signed up for this excursion. We had one on one service, it was incredible. Instead of feeling like you were a heard of cattle. It was very personal and wonderful. Our guide was incredible with sooo much information. Absolutely loved it….
Everyone was jealous when they saw us coming in these awesome buggies!! They were fun to drive and we visited a nice beach and saw some Mayan culture while we were at it! Although it rained on us, we still had a great time. Our guides were awesome! A few in our group did the snorkeling and really enjoyed it, too. The food was good and we had a great time!
If you want to experience a leisurely drive around the coast of Cozumel then this is the one for you!
My husband and I took a taxi drive from the ship to the Hotel Cozumel. Since we arrived early we walked a few block to the Mega store. Mega is an awesome Mexican Walmart type store. They accept US dollars and have bilingual cashiers. We purchased a pair of water shoes for about $20. When we returned to the hotel we were invited to sit poolside and enjoy the facilities as we waited.
Our tour guides arrived on time. There were 4 total including a photographer who took pictures to be purchased later. There were 6 other people in our group. I paid extra to ensure my husband and I had our own buggy. There were a couple of ladies who couldn’t drive a stick shift and were placed into a buggy with another husband and wife. The third buggy was occupied by another married couple.
For 4 or 5 hours we circled the island led by our tour guides in their own two buggies. We stopped briefly at a small Mayan ruin for some culture and later at a beach bar where food was available for purchase. Due to the amount of time we stayed at the beach, we didn’t have time for the snorkel, however no one in our group minded or cared to snorkel.
We returned to the Hotel Cozumel where we were served complimentary fajitas and iced tea and again offered use of the pool and hotel facilities. We declined the purchase of any photos and took a taxi back to the cruise port.
The “Mexican Ferrari” we drove was comfortable, but definitely not something we’re used to driving back at home. There were a few minor mechanical issues such as blinkers and lights not working, but I never felt unsafe. Overall, this was a great excursion that I’d do over again.
Omar was awesome! And dont expect fancy vw bugs. They are home brew and no frills. Omar offered beer…which was awesome. Went to some mayan ruins. His friend makes THE BEST pina colada and margherita in a shack off the beach…..all in all we hD a time of our life and talked about it with all our friends.beautiful beaches and driving around the island, we loved it!!!
This is the best tour, it covers everything you would want to do in Cozumel. You ride around the island in fun buggies. The Mayan ruins are not what you would see in Tulum but you do get some Mayan culture and food. The beach stop is at a beautiful, uncrowded location. Snorkeling I saw more fish then I have on most snorkel tours. The trip finishes up with delicious food, the chicken fajitas are great. Juan and Omar keep the trip informative and safe. They are terrific. One of the best excursions I have ever been on.
We absolutely loved this tour! It was so much fun driving the buggies around the island. Daniel, Omar, and Juan took great care of us as well. They were extremely knowledgeable and shared many insider tips as well. I loved going to the Mayan village and enjoying the history as well as the watching our traditional Mayan snack being made over the fire right in front of us. Very cool!
If it’s your first time in Cozumel, choose this tour, you won’t regret it!!!!! What a wonderful excursion! Whenever I go somewhere for the first time, I like to the the full introduction to the city (or island in this case). I’ve been to Cozumel once before and always regretted only visiting just one beach. This excursion was just the ticket to remedy the situation.
We started at Hotel Cozumel, where our guides took us to our buggies. The cars are a bit of a challenge – no power steering and a tricky tranny (4-speed), but it was fun driving it around. I prefer this approach to a van any day. Fresh air, great views … A blast in one word.
Our tour commenced with a nice drive to El Cedral – the oldest town on the island. The drive is scenic. There we met a Mayan woman who fed us some authentic Mayan food – who knew that pumpkin seeds can be made into a delish chutney?! We got a brief history lesson, stuffed our faces with yumminess, and took off to a beach.
At the beach there is food, drinks, mariachis, a few masseuses, and a nice swimming area naturally blocked off by the rock formations (makes swimming more enjoyable as you don’t need to battle the waves).
Last stop was back at the Hotel Cozumel. There they take you snorkeling (beware of fire coral – my thigh still burns two weeks later) and our guides would dive and take photos of us under water or get us little creatures to look at. Sea urchin was my fave!!! The tour ended with a nice Mexican lunch (included in the tour price) – fajitas, pico de gallo, seafood salad, etc.
We had enough time to do some shopping after 🙂 and took our time getting back to the ship. The tour was well worth it and I’m so glad to have been able to check out the whole island and see all it has to offer!!!! Btw, our tour guided rocked!
We had such an amazing time! All of our guides were incredible and fun to be with. The extra time and effort they spent creating a video and taking pictures really made this excursion Juan in a million! It was fun and we are glad we did this and not something from our cruise line. The value for the money is amazing! So glad we did it. Cosumel is a beautiful place and they really showcased its beauty throughout the whole day!
We booked our buggy snorkel adventure through carnival, with explora tours. Was great time. We drove around the island making several stops and snorkeled. We stopped at some amazing beaches. Visited the small Mayan Ruin just outside the lagoon area that has salt water crocs. From there we went to Elicanos beach and ate lunch which was provided. The lunch was good the beach there was empty yuo felt like you had your won private beach. They do have some people seeling things there, but they did hound you if you told them no thank you. They also had massage people there as well. From there we went onto the light house, it worth the walk up to the top, the view is amazing. Our 2 boys had a blast the whole day. Our guides Al and Eddie were great and gracious and had alot of knowledge and insight about the places we visited.
Snorkeling was average, lunch right after was good. Now driving the “buggy” around the island was SWEET! We visited a small Mayan Ruin and had authentic tortillas and heard a woman speak the Mayan dialect. We drove the buggy around again and headed for the beach, the weather was perfect. We visited on July 6th on a cruise. The 3 tours guides wee more than helpful, funny and nice. Would recommend this!
We had an awesome day with with this tour group! We(family group of 13) visited Cozumel by cruise ship and this was a great excursion to sample a little bit of everything. A short taxi ride from the cruise ship to our meeting place at Hotel Cozumel and Resort were we were greeted by Daniel and Mr Myagi. Funny guys who made the tour interesting! We loaded up in by far the coolest dune buggys around!! Our first stop was the Mayan ruin, have to admit it was not quite what I expected but the Authentic Mayan food we were served by a woman who spoke Mayan definitely made up for it! It was delicious and a great surprise. We continued our journey onto the scenic East Shore, breathtaking views of the beach. We stopped at the beach and had a chance to purchase a drink, swim, shop a little and bathroom break. Then we continued on our drive heading towards the Hotel Cozumel. Once we arrived we met our snorkel instructor and went to the reefs across from the Hotel. We were able to see quite a bit of fish and sea creatures but probably not as much as you would see offshore. We finished off with a nice lunch (that was included in the cost) at the hotel fajitas and tacos, the pico was awesome. We had a full day but still had some time to make it to some silver shops downtown and then back to the cruise ship by taxi. Great day!!
